Duties:
The Assistant/Associate Compensation Consultant works in collaboration with a Compensation Consultant assisting in all facets of compensation and classification including job analysis and evaluation, research and salary market analysis, client service, policy administration, compensation planning, database management and training initiatives. Specific responsibilities include conducting research, reviews of both bargaining unit and excluded jobs, providing client service to line departments, and assisting in developing, implementing and evaluating compensation and classification initiatives, projects and programs.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess post-secondary education in a related field with a minimum of 3 years experience in the delivery of compensation, classification, job analysis and/or human resources client services; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. A professional designation (ie CHRP or IPMA or CCP) will be considered an asset. Strong skills in communication, consultation, research, analysis, problem-solving, and computer (spreadsheets) are key requirements for this position. Experience working in a unionized environment along with a working knowledge of government policies and procedures, and collective agreements is preferred. Some travel may be required. The successful candidate must be willing to work towards obtaining the CCP designation.
Classification: MCP 8 - 15
Salary Range: Commensurate based on education and experience
