GIS Programmer Analyst

An opportunity is available to provide development and support to an enterprise level Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions within the J.D. Irving, Limited companies. These solutions are primarily focused on Forestry, but could include Non-forestry Land Management, Media, Transportation, or Retail.

Responsibilities:

• Provide GIS new system development and support to J.D. Irving, Limited companies using the following technologies (in order of importance):
  
• ArcGIS 9.x including desktop and server
  
• ArcObjects
  
• Python
  
• SQL Server
  
• VB.NET
  
• ArcPad
  
• Complete both technical (development) and analysis deliverables, such as
  
• Defining business and functional requirements
  
• System design and development
  
• Testing and training
  
• Documentation
  
• Provide GIS service, such as:
  
• Map production
  
• Data analysis and reporting
  
• Database management

Education Requirements – Knowledge & Skills:

• University Degree or Community college diploma with GIS content
  
• Previous experience in GIS or forestry science is considered an asset
  
• Team oriented individual with excellent communication and problem solving skills
