We are currently seeking applications for the position of Survey Department Manager from qualified individuals looking for a rewarding and challenging opportunity. Previous experience in road building, mining or heavy civil construction would be a definite asset.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

• Plans, coordinates and supervises the work of several field survey crews and survey C.A.D. technicians;
• Serves as the liaison between public utilities, contactors and subcontractors during construction to provide continuity in the assignment of survey crews;
• Oversees the measurement of completed construction work to determine "as-builts" quantities for the construction project, which are used in computing the cost of the project;
• Works with superintendents in providing survey data for expediting construction projects;
• Supervises the collection and analysis of data;
• Ensure proper staffing levels for the surveying department.

Qualifications:

• At least 5-7 years surveying background, with 3 years previous supervisory experience.
• Survey techniques used in making cross section, profile, location, topographic and construction layout surveys.
• Local surveying principles, rules and regulations governing land surveying as defined by provincial statutes.
• Field survey engineering methods and techniques.
• Civil Engineering Technologist and survey terminology.
