Position Summary:

The Payroll Coordinator is a payroll professional with a thorough understanding of payroll practices and Canadian legislation. Reporting to a Payroll Manager,the coordinator is responsible for  the preparation of weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly  payrolls,  including the timely and consistent  application  of payroll  related legislations; monthly reconciliations and remittances, responding to external clients' queries. In addition, the Payroll Coordinator plays a key role in the preparation of T4s and other year end processes.  This role supports and receives direction from the Payroll Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Compiles data and reviews information prior to routing data to the payroll production environment
  • Determines the root cause of a problem or issue and ensures timely and accurate resolution.
  • Ensures quarterly and year end processes are completed accurately and on a timely basis
  • Ensures all clients are receiving World Class Service as per ADP's mission statement
  • Ensures clients' are apprised of internal forms, processes and procedures required for accurate payroll output
  • Ensures clients' are implemented accurately
  • Ensures changes, additions and/or amendments are processed accurately
  • Investigates, analyzes and resolves issues.
  • Coordinates workflow between departments
  • Responsible for all assigned payroll audits

Requirements:

  • Payroll professional with a thorough understanding of general payroll practices
  • Strong knowledge of federal and provincial statutes and payroll reporting requirements
  • General understanding of automated payroll system, input methods
  • Completion or enrolment in CPA is a definite asset
  • Strong PC experience, understanding of operating systems
  • Superior client service skills (both verbal and written)
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to multi-task, probe, analyze and solve complex issues
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment and consistently achieve quality standards
  • Strong organizational skills, including effective prioritization and follow-up
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment

Hours 8:30-5:00pm, (must be flexible for shift changes).
