Fifteen thousand, eight hundred and sixteen hellos and bonjours
And 10,000 helping hands.  We need you, and all of your friends, in just one short year to help put on the largest multi-sport event that Halifax has ever hosted.  More than 5,000 volunteers will be needed from February 11-27, 2011 to form the backbone of the Games.  From IT Services, to Mascot Support to Athlete Village Operations – there's something for everyone.

This role will provide appropriate care for all participants, responding to any medical incidents and providing care in accordance with Scope of Practice.  Nurses will assist with participant intake at the Poly Clinic and Satellite Clinic. They are also responsible for operations within the Poly Clinic/Satellite Clinic Infirmaries, ensuring that medical supplies are stocked.

Volunteers for this role must be registered with a provincial nursing regulatory body such as the Registered Nurses Association of Nova Scotia and be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.  Nurses should offer related experience, offer excellent communication skills and be service-oriented.  Flexibility and available to work varied hours and shifts during the Games are required.

Volunteers will be required to complete appropriate background checks for this role, including a Criminal Records' Check.  Details about the background checks process will be supplied to applicants as they move through the selection process.
