We also bring to the table the strength of partners such as HP, Microsoft, IBM, SUN and Cisco. They enhance our knowledge, and complement a culture built on four key values of passion, people and results.

Our technologies are helping to automate record management, shorten waitlist times, and generally improve service delivery for healthcare organizations such as the Ontario Medical Association, Doctors Nova Scotia, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and MaineGeneral Health. Our systems contribute to the safe navigation of the world's most heavily traveled non-radar air space-the North Atlantic. They ensure the delivery of national defence projects and secure communications for the RCMP.

We helped design and build the eBusiness infrastructure for the Canada Revenue Agency. We are a longtime public-sector partner at all levels: we manage the IT infrastructure and ensure 24/7 service delivery for the Government of New Brunswick; we look after the communication and administration systems connecting the 13 campuses of Nova Scotia Community College; we build secure, wireless mobile-dispatching solutions for community law-enforcement agencies-we are, in fact, driving an array of municipal e-government initiatives in cities across Canada: Halifax, Brandon, Ottawa, Mississauga. We're also supporting the utility industry as it enters a new era of deregulation-fulfilling the technology requirements of energy providers such as Newfoundland Power, New Brunswick Power, and enwave District Energy. In addition, we help Bell Aliant integrate and manage its complex telecommunications network.

We're Canada's leader in software engineering and systems integration for mission-critical operational systems. We deliver solutions of the highest quality standards to some of the country's most demanding vertical markets including defence and aerospace, healthcare and public safety.

Our History

xwave was established in 2000 through the merger of xwave solutions and MITI Information Technology Inc. MITI was formed in 1993 from the IT division of J.D. Irving Inc., and experienced rapid growth through the merger with Datacor/ISM and the acquisitions of Keltic Technologies and Galahad Information Systems. xwave solutions (now known simply as xwave) was formed in 1999 with the merger of Minerva Technology, Paragon Information Systems, NewTel Information Solutions, and the IT Division of MTT. Both xwave solutions and MITI were subsidiaries of Aliant Inc. and had a history of success in their marketplaces.

After xwave was established, the company acquired Software Kinetics, PRIOR Data Sciences, ICON Data Systems, and integrated the IT Divisions of Aliant's telecommunications companies. The company also expanded into the United States, by acquiring the offices of TechKnowledge in New England, and into Ireland through the opening of a Dublin office.

In 2004 xwave acquired the Atlantic operations of Fujitsu Consulting (Canada) Inc., resulting in a much larger team of senior business consultants and solution architects. In 2005, xwave opened a new office in the Washington DC area to support government-sector growth around its public safety and emergency management offerings.

In 2006, xwave transitioned to become a Division of Bell Aliant Regional Communications L.P. (TSX: BA.UN) as a result of an Income Trust agreement. Bell Aliant serves its customers throughout six Canadian provinces with innovative information and communications technology (ICT) solutions, including telephony, wireless, Internet, data, IT professional services, and value-added solutions. Bell Aliant also provides IT professional services through xwave's offices in Canada, the US and Ireland. The organization has approximately 10,500 employees build on its 100-plus year history by collaborating to deliver the highest quality of customer service, choice and convenience.
