Health Care is a rapidly changing environment, which poses diverse challenges for us as we
strive to achieve our ongoing commitment to excellence. And be assured that
South-East Regional Health Authority is leading the way. Comprised of a well-rounded
network of services, SERHA includes the following facilities: - The
Moncton Hospital, a 400-bed referral hospital, providing primary, secondary and
tertiary care
- Sackville Memorial Hospital, a 24-bed rural hospital
- Albert
County Health and Wellness Centre
- Health Services Centre Rexton
- Port
Elgin Health Centre
- Petitcodiac Health Centre
- Addiction Services
- Katherine
Wright Family Wellness Centre
- Extra-Mural units in Moncton and Sackville.
We
have achieved national recognition in family physician education, information
systems, quality management, and we lead in many other services. The staff in
all our facilities are proactive in responding to the needs of their clients and
play integral roles within the communities they serve. We have strong ties with
a community that has financed many of our advancements in equipment and technology.
As the Authority's
flagship facility, The Moncton Hospital (TMH) offers specialty services in neurosurgery,
neonatology, medical oncology, child and adolescent psychiatry, interventional
radiology, infectious diseases, trauma, burn care and gastroenterology.
As employees of SERHA, we not only persist
in our efforts to be on the leading edge of technology and technique, but we strive
daily to live up to our mission that encourages us to "…achieve excellence in
providing and promoting health services that improve the quality of life for the
people we serve." Our immediate service area includes the cities of Moncton
and Dieppe, towns of Riverview, Sackville and Shediac, as well as a large number
of surrounding rural communities. Our reach often extends beyond these boundaries
to all of New Brunswick, northern Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Many of
our services are offered in both English and French languages. As a provider
of health care services, we acknowledge that our employees are every bit as important
as the community we care for. We strive for a working environment that encourages
each to do their best, provides the opportunities for improvement and growth,
and applauds an individual's victories because they are also our own. For
the 2600+ employees who proudly participate in the maintenance of our facilities,
administration, provision of care and healing of illness, we offer the following:
- Childcare facilities,
- A fully equipped fitness centre,
- Library,
- Resident
resource center,
- Many educational programs and counseling services.
Annually,
approximately 400,000 patients will pass through the doors of SERHA facilities,
including approximately 17,000 patients admitted for inpatient care and over 70,000
in the Emergency Departments alone. Joining the South-East Regional Health
Authority Team means not only joining one of the Moncton area's largest employers,
but also becoming an integral part of a diverse team of individuals. Our primary
goal is providing compassionate and quality care to the communities we serve.
In spite
of booming economic development and steady population growth, Moncton still retains
the mantle of small town Atlantic Canada. Quality lifestyle is of utmost importance
here. Our cost of living is low compared with the rest of Canada, and our housing
affordable, as evidenced by a steady increase in housing starts. Our people
are warm, friendly and welcoming. In 1997, Reader's Digest named Moncton the most
honest city in North America after a test involving lost wallets resulted in all
ten billfolds 'left' on Moncton streets were returned with money intact. Then
in 2001, hundreds of residents opened their hearts and homes to thousands of stranded
travelers during the 9/11 tragedy. Atlantic Canadians are truly the heart
of Canada, and Moncton is the city at the centre of that heart. click
